You won’t have to struggle and bump a stroller up and down stairs. You won’t have to wedge yourself into a crowded lift because the stairs are too steep. You can forget about struggling to manoeuvre a stroller while making athletic movements to try to keep a heavy shop door from swinging shut.
Anyone who has a child will know how difficult it is to do anything with a babe in arms. Probably the best thing about carrying your little one in a backpack is the fact that it leaves your hands free. There will be times when using a stroller is impracticable and you need to carry your baby. Even a tiny bundle of joy will start to feel heavy after being carried for a while. A sling or backpack will enable you to carry your child without becoming tired easily. You won’t suffer aching arms and backache.
It is best not to start using a backpack carrier until your baby is able to hold his/her head up. During the early months it is better to use a baby sling or a front carrier to ensure that the infant has the correct support when being carried. When the child is about six months old, it will be more comfortable and convenient for him/her to be carried on your back. Baby front carriers are more expensive than slings. But there are front carriers that can be converted into backpacks. This extends the time they can be used, so they can be worth the initial outlay.
